Do you have a code for your kids or your family?

We used to say “Cooper Kids are kind” in our family. When things are escalating too quickly and things are out of control with peoples patience, someone might say “Cooper kids are kind”.

We use “Can we start over?” often, too. When we lose our cool or just are honoring our ego by trying to be right and then we realize that was stupid and we feel bad for our behavior – we say “can we start over?”

My brother and sister-in-law say “1, 3, 8” to each other. 1 meaning, 3 words, 8 letters. I like this. Even when it might be tough, a code might be easier to say.

What’s a code you can use that your family will recognize as a starting over point?
